Berg Insight: Global cellular IoT connections grew 12% last year to reach 1.7B

Research from Berg Insight suggests the number of global cellular IoT connections continued to grow at a healthy pace last year.

An overall increase in the number of IoT connections is unsurprising over the past year as more people became accustomed to remote working and finding ways to make their home environments more productive and enjoyable. However, most home IoT connections aren’t cellular.

Huawei demotes AV chief following comments Tesla is ‘killing’ people

Huawei wants to have autonomous cars on roads by 2025

Huawei is aiming to have its own autonomous cars on the roads by 2025 as competition to be among the early pioneers heats up.

Apple, Amazon, and Google, are among the many tech giants looking to launch self-driving cars. Chinese alternatives such as Baidu and Alibaba have also been testing autonomous vehicles including long-distance trucks and local delivery vans.

AutoX’s driverless taxis reach 100 consecutive days of operation

Alibaba-backed autonomous vehicle firm AutoX has now operated a driverless taxi service for 100 consecutive days.

The service has been operating without a safety driver on the roads of Shenzhen, the most population-dense city in China.
