IoT platform provider Jasper has announced that more than 500 enterprises have trialled the China Unicom Control Center IoT platform within the first three months of its launch.
The enterprises represent key industry hubs for Jasper and, according to the company, showcase the efficiency and wide ranging nature of the platform. Among the firms signed up include two of China’s 10 largest auto manufacturers, as well as several major retailers, wearable manufacturers, and telematics service providers.
Jasper’s partnerships with 27 global mobile operator groups fits in with China Unicom, which is the only operator in China which uses the same 3G and 4G technologies – WCDMA and FDD-LTE – as most mobile providers worldwide.
“We see significant appetite across China to capitalise on the Internet of Things,” said Cindy Patterson, Jasper chief customer officer. “These innovators are seizing the opportunity to transform their businesses with IoT services in ways that add value for their customers while growing their revenues.
“The diversity of industries represented by these companies is remarkable and it is exciting to see this level of activity in such a short time period,” she added.
Jasper’s previous partnerships have included VMware, to integrate its IoT platform with enterprise mobility management (EMM), as well as deals with Salesforce and SAP, providing greater value to customers with the former and better managing and monetising IoT services with the latter.
